(6) 1738, 5 Jun: William Beverly deeded to John Anderson 748 acres which is believed to have been the home farm upon which he lived and died. This land is located in Middle River at the crossing by the Valley turnpike and the Valley railroad. That portion ofhis estate where he resided was later the property of Andrew Bowling.

James Allen was also named as a member of the session, and 3 or 4 names are listed between him and John Anderson. James Allen is known to have been an elder as early as 1746. The fact that John Anderson preceeds him in the deed indicates he was not only the senior elder of the church at that time, but one of the first elders originally elected.
