The estate accounts of Thomas CONN, who died in Frederick Co. MD in 1760 show a payment in Nov 1764 to John Breeden for William ANDERSON, who married Elizabeth CONN, Thomas' granddaughter. The fact that Elizabeth's share was paid to an intermediary hints that William and Elizabeth Conn ANDERSON may not have been living in Frederick County at that time.
Elizabeth CONN must have been born before 1748, to have been married by 1764. She is too old to have been the daughter of either of Thomas' other sons, James (b. abt 1730) and Thomas Jr.(b. 1733). Her father must have been born before 1726, and must have died young. No record of his name or birth has been found, and perhaps never will be, as he was born in Ireland like his father Thomas CONN.
However, if the children (sons) of William ANDERSON and Elizabeth CONN could be identified, the naming pattern might provide a clue to the first name of Elizabeth's father, who was probably Thomas CONN's oldest son. This in turn would reveal the name of Thomas' father, a subject of much discussion in this CONN line.
Can anyone place this William ANDERSON who married Elizabeth CONN before 1764?
