Hi Will,
It has been a while since your posting, so this presumed associative information might not aid you, but may help others, so I will post what I have.
Although I do not have any data directly relative to your Thomas W. Anderson, I believe that I can provide some history concerning the identity of Thomas Smith Anderson, whom you refered to in your posting. His biography is found in Goodspeed's History of Eastern Arkansas. It appears that you consider "your Thomas W." may be related to
Thomas Smith Anderson considering residences being of the same county.
Thomas Smith Anderson's lineage is:
Gabriel ANDERSON Sr. died in 1813 Wilson County, Tennessee
in the community of Gladeville, which is outside the town of Lebanon. He had migrated from Newberry County, SC to Wilson Co. TN circa 1800-1806. The name of his wife is not presently known.Gabriel is a descendant of Abraham Anderson Sr. (b: circa 1690 d:1764 in Berkley County, South Carolina).
Gabriel ANDERSON Jr.
b: 1774 Newberry, SC - d:1850 Madison County, Tennessee)
married to Miram Smith (b: 1779 Newberry, SC - d: 1848 Madison County, Tennessee).Miram was the daughter of Jarred Smith & Esther Lindsey Smith of Newberry, SC.
Miram's paternal & maternal grandparents are formerly of the Shenondoah Valley of Virginia.Gabriel and Miram had 12 children-3 boys and 9 daughters.Samuel Lindsay is the eldest child.
Samuel Lindsay ANDERSON (b: 1800-Newberry, SC--d: 1884
El Paseo, White County, Arkansas) married Eliza Braden, daughter of Alexander Braden Sr., and wife Margaret Braden.
Thomas Smith ANDERSON (b: 1832 Madison County, Tennessee)
married Margaret Ann Laws of Haywood County, Tennessee, daughter of J.P. and Minerva Leathers Laws.
In 1858, Thomas S. migrated to El Paso Co. AR from West Tennessee along with his brother, James A. Anderson, Minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
My direct descent stems from a brother of Samuel Linday Anderson. If you have any other questions you can e-mail me outside this forum.
