I am looking for information on my 3rd g-grand parents Mary and James Anderson. The information I have.James Anderson was a Lawyer according to a 1860 census.I am unsure of the State census record given to me from an older family member since she only copied the names, occupation and place born.Nothing on state or county.
The following chidren were listed as John M,Born Indiana James T., Born Iowa Mary M.(Mary Mahala,2nd great grandmother)Born Oct 22, Iowa Winfield P., Born Iowa Elizabeth N., Born Iowa Edward H or K., Born Iowa
I do know that they were in the area of Chariton Iowa in 1877 since their oldest daughter (my 2nd great grandmother and father were married there) Mary Mahala married Pickney Scott Tickel. March 15, 1877
I was lead to believe James and Mary possibly came into Oklahoma at the time of the land run or shortly there after following their daughter and son-in-law.I am to believe they are burried here in Oklahoma(unknown where).I am currently searching for anyone who may connect me to their family line.
I have a photo of James but not one of his wife Mary. It is my hope to locate information and/or a photo of my Grand mother Mary Anderson since I am in possession of a 150+ year old horse hair bridle she made from the horse team's mane and tail hair. Also I have a tatted lace dress she made for her grandson, Oda Francis Tickel, my great grandfather.
I can't trade much information other then what was basically given but I can forward a couple of photos including a photo of the bridle and dress.
Any help would greatly be appreciated Thanks in advance. S. Teply
