Anderson Family Murfreesboro TN - Tolson

Family lore has it that my husband's ggrandfather, Robert Lee Tolson was born out of wedlock to an Elizabeth Tolson.He was born in 1876 in Mercer, TN.The story (and that's all it is at this point - because I can't verify anything) goes that Elizabeth Tolson became pregnant by a young man from Murfreesboro, TN by the name of Anderson.Supposedly, the Anderson family had a large plantation there.From these legendary accounts, Elizabeth was spurned by her lover as he married another.Heard tell she committed suicide some time after the birth of her boy and he was raised by aunts.Can't confirm.Can't even find Robert L Tolson 'til he is married.Some family thought the man's name was Robert Anderson.Although not likely, anyone ever hear of such a story?
