Christmas with the 7 Andersons / 1930
Every year at Christmas, when we display our holiday cards and photographs on the wall, I tape up a card that I found in an old book. It's about 3x5 inches and is printed with the words "Christmas Greetings from the Seven Andersons, 1930" and features a photograph of this family. From left to right, there is a girl with glasses about 13-years-old, a boy about eight, the fortyish father with a boy about four on his lap, another boy about eight who I assume is a twin of the first boy, then the fortyish mother with a girl about five on her lap.Since I found this picture in a medical/psychology book, I've often wondered if the father in this picture is a doctor (especially since not to many regular people could afford to send out these kinds of cards during the Depression.)I found the card in Detroit, but have no idea if the family lived here or mailed the card to Detroit from somewhere else in the country.Does this family card sound familiar to anyone?Though I'm not an Anderson myself, after so many years of displaying this card every Christmas, I kind of feel like I know these people and would love to find out more about them and what happened to them.If anyone would like to see a scan of this card, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you a copy. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
