There is some speculation that her name may be a misread of Symons but I don't believe that since the record in the county court is clear. (I have a copy and have checked the original)
But since the legation to the four sons is from THomas Symons
Reynard Anderson
In Court 02/03/1689
Charles City County Court Orders 1687-1695, page 276
Judgt. granted Reynard Anderson as guardian to his four sons Matthew, Wm., John, and Henry Anderson, legatees of Tho. Symons, dec'd, agst Geo. Downing, Exec. of will of said Symons, for £ 10, which is given to said sons (50 s to each) by said will. Said Anderson to give good security.
here are some notes on him
Thomas Symons died before February 3, 1689. Thomas left George Downing executor of his will. Thomas left the four Anderson children listed below 10 pounds which was to be divided equally between them, each recieving 50 shillings. Because these four children were underaged, their father had to be appointed as their legal guardian. This all occured in Charles City County.
Thomas Symons sponsored Thomas Andrews for passage to America in 1639. Thomas was then living in James City County. This would ndicate that Thomas was born at least by 1620 and was probably one of the earliest settlers in this country. I have found two Thomas Symonds who immigrated prior to 1639. One of them is likely the one mentioned above. The 1st immigrated in 1637 to New Norfolk County and was sponsored by Henry Woodhowe. The second came into Accomack County in 1638 and was sponsored by Stephen Carlton.
