From New York Times April 28, 1914: "Admiral Badger telegraphs that James Alonzo Anderson, seaman was one of the men wounded in the operations at Vera Cruz April 21. Anderson first enlisted July 31,1902 at Toledo, Ohio and re-enlisted Jan. 7,1911 at Carbondale, Penn. Born in Lindsay, Ohio Sept. 21, 1885. Home address Rochester, Ind. Next of kin Mary J. Anderson, mother, Rochester, Ind. Attached to the Florida, Anderson was named in a previous report from Vera Cruz, but the department hs not before this been able to positively identify him, as there were two men of the same name."Hope this helps someone. I am getting rid of the papers as they are crumbling.
