I am looking for descendants of James Anderson, Sr., of Brakey in County Armagh, Northern Ireland (ca. 1780 to Jun 12, 1864).
According to one tradition, he was buried in a splendid coffin in Lisbeney Graveyard, N.I. His father, John, was known as "The Old Man of Killeylea." It is said that John loved two things best, "the voice of a loving wife and the whistling of a tea-kettle."
James Anderson Sr. had three sons, Jim Jr., Tom and Sam, all born in Caledon, Co. Armagh, and all employed in the building trades.
James Anderson, Jr., emigrated to Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, and took up residence in the town of Hespeler, where he operated a waggon and carriage-making business. He was my great-grandfather.
His dates of birth and death are Jul 6, 1828 to Jan 31, 1913. His wife was Hannah (Hoffman) Anderson, Apr 3, 1840 to Dec 28, 1907, daughter of Christian Hoffman and grand-daughter of Jacob Hoffman.
Anyone able to help me trace this family either forwards or backwards in time, please leave a posting in this message forum.
