If so, she'd have to be a rather distant cousin. Andor is a very uncommon name and everyone I've run across with it has been related to me some how. It originated in the Saar region of western Germany.
But my own branch did not start coming to the US until the late 1800s and early 1900s. They had gone eastward in the late 1700s to settle the Banat province of Hungary, which had some years before been recaptured from the Turks. The Austrian government wanted German and Austrian settlers on the border to guard against Turkish attempts to regain it. (The land had been largely depopulated under Turkish rule.) But the requirement was that all of the settlers had to be Catholics.Protestant Germans usually emigrated west to the US -- a much better choice in the long run!
