Angela, again, thanks for the information.I do not have Augusta's maiden name. The Andreas' came to the US on the ship Havel from Bremen, Germany and landed at Ellis Island on 4/6/1893.Their home town was listed as Berge, Germany.Listed in the family was Hedwig age 18 (Possibly Hattie), Hugo, age 14, Richard age 11, unnamed, age 10 and Emma age 8. In the 1920 census, the family was listed as owning a home at 43 Heath St. in Providence, RI.Also in the home was Richard Andreas and his wife Emily (Amelia), and three kids, Walter, Esther, and Max.
Both Gottlieb and Augusta were naturalized in 1896.I obtained the naturalization papers for my Polish grandfather which contained an abundance of information.Perhaps the Andreas papers may provide some clues for you.
I am most interested in finding any photo of Emma and her husband Andrew Russell Sweet. Also, is their anyone left around who remembers Emma and her husband?I would love to speak or correspond with them.
Joe Sweet
