Harvey D. was born, Oct 1869, the son of Milo B. and Diana Jeanette Apgar.He was educated in the public schools of Minnesota, became a druggist and for a number of years worked in Birmingham, AL.On 1 Nov 1895, he came to Glacier Park in Montana.His father had located had located a homestead on Lake McDonald in what is now Glacier Park in the spring of 1892, and Harvey D. proved up on it for his father's heirs, the father having died in 1896.
On 1 Oct 1891, Harvey D. married Miss Jessie Cunningham, born in Arkansas, daughter of H.J. and Atlanta Cunningham.They had three children:Helen, Jeanette, Milo D. (Dimon)
Jessie Apgar was postmistress of the Apgar Post Office at Lake McDonald.The Apgars lived on the shores of McDonald Lake and kept cabins for tourists.
Harvey D. Apgar was a member of the Apgar ancestry which has been in America since Revolutionary times, and a number of the family were soldiers.
