Grace Pearl Apple was born in Howard county Indiana, August 9, 1885, and died at her home in Twickenham, Oregon, October 23, 1914. Twenty-three years ago she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Apple, to Oregon. Her early education was obtained at Stayton, near where her parents still reside. From there she went to Salem, where she attended college. In this as in everything she undertook her sunny disposition and perseverence enabled her to make her work a success. In November 1909 she was married to Henry D. Keys of Wheeler County. This union waa (not typo) blessed with two children, Elizabeth Viola aged four and William Zachary aged two. A loving daughter, a kind and devoted wife and mother, her death brings sorrow to many but "They mourn not as those who have no hope." The funeral was October 26, at the Christian Church in Stayton and interment was in the Stayton cemetery. Rev. H.E. Rossell officiating.
