Tried to send this by e-mail, but wouldn't go thro. Had a little time and was browsing thro the Message Boards again.Am sure we corresponded earlier, but can't find my answer to you.
John W. Apple survived the Civil War.I have muster, medical & records showing his capture. He enlisted on Sept. 2, 1862 with either 3 or 4 other Apples -- 3 I think and a Buchanan who was his brother-in-law.One of the Apples that enlisted that day was Henry who was killed at the Battle of Stones River. We did find his grave last month while visiting the site.
Recently I had an e-mail in response to my query on John W. saying that Eli Apple had a son John (no m.i.) b in NC in 1832 and died in IN.The dates all check, so am now wondering if I should investigate Eli & Francis Rich Apple. Do you have any info on this line?
Sorry if I'm being a pest, but am so baffled by not being able to find John W.'s parents. We are planning to go to NC in October, but am hoping I'll have a little more to go on before we leave.
