I am looking for information on ancestors, and descendants of my GGGrandfather, WILLIAM APPLEBY (b. 1815-1820 Ireland - d. 1869 St.Louis, MO), and his brother JAMES APPLEBY (b. 1826-1828 Ireland - d. 1884 St.Louis, MO).Parents names are possibly JAMES APPLEBY and JANE (do not know maiden name).WILLIAM APPLEBY 1st married (1850 - St.Louis, MO) to ANNE COSTELLO (b. abt. 1825 - d. 1861).JAMES APPLEBY married ROSA (b. 1826 Ireland - d. 1904 St.Louis, MO)(do not know maiden name). James and Rosa had a son, WILLIAM (b. abt. 1863) who was a policeman for the City of St. Louis, married IDA (do not know maiden name) and they had a daughter, AGNES (b. 1892).I do not know from what part of Ireland they came from.I figure they emigrated to the United States in the 1840's.I know nothing of any other siblings that William and James might have had, where in Ireland they originated from, nor what port they entered through in the U.S.
Also looking for information on ancestors and descendants of WILLIAM APPLEBY's 2nd wife, my GGGrandmother, ANNA WARD.WILLIAM 2nd married (1861 St.Louis, MO) to ANNA WARD (b. 1849 Pennsylvania - d. 1916 St.Louis, MO). WILLIAM and ANNA WARD had 3 children, two of which lived to adulthood; MARY VICTORIA and JAMES WILLIAM.ANNA WARD's parents are possibly PATRICK WARD and MARY (do not know maiden name) of Ireland.Again do not know from what part of Ireland this family originates from.Anna had 2 siblings that I know of; (1st)- a sister named MARGARET WARD (b. abt. 1838 Ireland - d. 1893 St.Louis, MO), married (?)LADEN (a railroad man)(believe lived in Illinois close to St.Louis) had 1 child, MARY LADEN, who married (?)CHURCH (also a railroad man) who had 2 children, MARGARET CHURCH (married (?)TIMLON) and FRANCES CHURCH; (2nd)- a brother named JOHN WARD (b.[?]) married (?), had a daughter named MARY WARD (b. Philadelphia, PA), married (?)SULLIVAN, had 2 children, HELEN SULLIVAN and ANN SULLIVAN. I figure the WARD family emigrated to the United States in the late 1830's or 1840's.I do not know if they had other children than Margaret, John and Anna.I do not know where in Ireland they originated from, nor what port they entered through in the U.S. or where they lived in Pennsylvania.Story has it that when Anna Ward came to St. Louis (prior to 1861), shecame as an "orphan" to stay with her older sister Margaret Ward Laden.
Any information at all on either of these families, ancestors or descendants, would be greatly appreciated.Thank You.
