Hello again. After many years of research I now have a very good picture of my Appleford ancestors including those who went to Canada. However I have one loose end I am trying to tidy up and I am hoping someone can help me. My 2xg grandfather was Richard Appleford born 1830 at Baydon in Wiltshire. His oldest brother William sailed from Liverpool to New York on the Chancellor arriving on 27 Nov 1860. The passenger list shows him as coming from Ireland which was incorrect. With William were his wife Ann Titchener born at Bishopstone near Swindon in Wiltshire and their three children Ruth, Alfred and Edward. I believe Edward may have been born on the crossing. The family lived at Eaton in Madison and the boys married. Edward married Agnes with children Ma(r)y and Walter and Alfred married Theda with children William and Grace. Grace eventually married a man by the name of Chapman having children Hazel and Robert. If you are able to help me with my research with this family or would like to know more about William's roots in Wiltshire and Berkshire please do not hesitate to contact me. I have registered the Appleford surname with the Guild of One Name Studies and have collected an enormous amount of data on the English and Canadian Applefords and am happy to share with other Appleford researchers.
