Her father was John Bayliss Applegate, b. 10 November, 1785 at Cabin Brook (now Ridgeway), Dover Township. He was married on 02 April, 1808 to Nancy Anderson in Monmouth County by James Allen, Deacon of the Methodist Episcopal Church (Atteridge, 1983.) He was from Dover; she was from Howell (Monmouth County Archives.) Nancy was born 07 October, 1791 in Whitesville, Howell Township. She died 12 (Voress-“18”—ED) March, 1870 in Ridgeway (Voress-“Dover Township, Ocean County”, NJ-ED). Nancy was the daughter of Reverend William C. and Elizabeth (Howell) Anderson.
