I found I D Nordyke (age 33, birthplace VA) and Rosanah Nordyke (age 37, birthplace KY) in the 1850 Census for Grundy Co., MO (1850 US Census, MO, Grundy Co., Dist. 35, 34/34).They are living relatively close to a whole bunch of Applegates.
FamilySearch shows a marriage record for a Rosanna Applegate and Israel Nordyke in Rush Co., IN on 17 Jan 1840.I'll bet this is the same couple. There seem to be very few Applegate/Nordyke marriages and the dates match pretty well.
I think the best bet for the father of Rosanah is James Applegate (Voress No. 1D3C1K).We have decent documentation of him residing in KY between 1820 and 1827 (the birthplaces of his children) and then residing in IN in the 1830s (same) and then finally residing in Grundy Co., MO (1850 US Census). If Rosanah was born in about 1823 in KY, which matches the 1850 Census record, and married in 1840 in IN, which matches the Family Search marriage record, it seems probable that she traveled with her father from KY to IN, picked up a husband in IN, and then moved with him and the rest of her relatives (father, grandmother, and several brothers) to Grundy Co., MO.
