Hello,I have an interest in Liverpool Appletons for which I have very little information.
> My great grandfather came to Victoria during the 1860's goldrushs. On his subsequent children's birth certificates he gave birth dates from 1836 to 1839 and his place of birth as St.Helens, Lancashire. His constant signature is William WEBSTER APPLETON.His father is named Peter APPLETON Builder and his mother Ellen PENKETH.
I have found a Margaret Webster APPLETON born in Liverpool in 1857 with a father called William APPLETON (this would have been just before my William Webster Appleton first appears in Melbourne, Australia.I have found her again in the 1881 census married to a Henry ROPER and with a two year old child visiting her brother William APPLETON in Liverpool.I have found what appears to be her living in Liverpool as a 43 year old in the 1901 census.I have found what appears to be William APPLETON and his family living at Wigan in this census also.Is any of this of any interest to you, kind regards, margaret.ps.This William Webster Appletonobviously was a rogue producing families around the world!
