I have just seen your message. My wife's line is Appleton from Longworth, Letcombe,Bluebury and Bristol. Joseph Appleton (c1746) married Elixzbeth Brooks8 November 1779 at Wantage but children born at Letcombe Basset.
Leonard Appleton Baptised 27 May 1787 at Letcombe Basset and married Martha Cannons on 25 January 1808 at Lambourne.
James Appleton Baptised 16 November 1823 Longworth and married Emma Mayow in 1851 at Longworth and later Esther Rivers at Longworth in 1859. (Ester was the widow of John Holliday).
John James Appleton Born 10 August 1862 at Longworth. Married Annie Pearson in 1856 at at the Register Office Colchester, Essex. Not sure why but I think he was in the army as he appears in the 1881 Census at Pembroke in Wales. His brother was William who lived at Blewbury.
Percy Reginald Appleton (my wife's grandfather) was born in 1888 at Ckifton Hampden. He married Gertrude Rose Woodward at Combe and worked for the GWR and oyher railway companies.
John James was in Bristol with his family in the 1901 Census and then Oxfor4d in the 1911.
I have been unable to follow John James & Annie further. I believe that Annie was killed by a tram in Liverpool but have been unable to find confirmation of this.
They had other children who married in Liverpool so the connection seems correct, Annie Alice married Charles Broadfoot in Middlesex but her children were born in Liverpool. Mabel Gladys Appleton married Frederick Peverall in Liverpool.
I have other details but would be interested if this connects.
