Robert C. Applewhite (the Sheriff of Lincoln County)married Martha “Mattie” D. Penn of Brookhaven Mississippi (b. Nov. 16, 1868d. Feb. 2, 1947)
they were married on March 28, 1898 and had three children: Robert Powell Applewhite, Annie Laurie Applewhite, and Eldredge “Happy” Penn Applewhite.
