Leonard A. Applewhite was born in Eugene, OR 1 Oct 1893 and died in Eureka, KS 5 Oct 1987. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, KS. He moved from Oregon to Piedmont, KS Feb 1915. He farmed until 1919 then became an oil field worker. He retired in 1957. He married Olive Essie Gibson 9 Mar 1913 in Portland, OR.
Olive Gibson was the dau. of David Arthur McClellan Gibson and Katie Edith Wheeler. She was born 28 May 1894 in KS. She died 9 Oct 1972 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, KS.
Leonard and Olive had two children: Margaret Cleone Applewhite was born 12 Oct 1914 in Eugene, OR. She married Eugene William Long 20 Apr 1940 in Eureka, KS. She was a school teacher and office manager of Coffeyville Transfer & Storage, a family business, located in Coffeyville, KS.
She died 19 July 1990 in Coffeyville, KS. She is buried in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Wilson Co., KS. She was a Methodist.
Eugene (Gene) William Long was born 6 Apr 1918 in Campo, CO. He owned and operated the Coffeyville Transfer & Storage Co. He died 14 Dec 1998 in Bartlesville, OK and is buried in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, KS.
Their son William Eugene Long, is presumably still living.
Margaret Applewhite's brother, David Applewhite, is still living in Wichita, KS.
