Fiona, I just returned from several days in Dorset with Ian Aplin of Bideford, England and we visited many Aplin sites. In Ian's writing (he is publishing a book this spring), he refers to Johan Applin (c1645-1726) of Iwerne Minster, a schoolmaster. He married Bethusa Bartlett on 23 November, 1671.They later lived at Littleton in Middlesex, where John was offered a teaching post at Groton. After Bethusa died in 1692, John married Sara Smith..by the 18th century, John Applin's descendants were in Swanzey and Sullivan in New Hampshire...Do we have the same John Applin? If so, let me know. Linda Watkins
