A Compilation of the Original Lists of Protestant Immigrants To South Carolina 1763-1773 by Janie Revill, published in 1981 gives some information on Jacob Irrig. On page 61 is a list of names of petitioners 'on the Bounty' for acres of land in South Carolina. Jacob Irrig received 100 acres of land. The meeting for petitions was held on October 17th, 1766. In the same list appears John Adam Irrig (150 acres) and Frederick Irrig (150 acres). John Adam was my 4th great grandfather. Jacob's land grant certificate states that Jacob Irick received 100 acres on a branch of Beaver Creek in Berkley County bounded to the South East by land survey'd for William York & the other three sides vacant land, dated October 2, 1767.On later documents (ie. wills, deeds, etc.) John Adam's name was spelled Arick.
