AUXILIARY OFFICERS HERE RESIGN PLACES
MRS. BLUME, MISS ARICK, AND MRS. WELLS QUIT AND OTHERS ARE CHOSEN
Following wholesale resignations of the officers chosen by the local unit of the American Legion auxiliary at their meeting on December 13, the unit, it was learned last night, has elected others to serve during the coming year.Installation is to be held early in January. The resignations made it impossible to proceed with this ceremony this week, as had been the original plan.Mrs. Georgia H. Blume, newly elected county recorder, has resigned from the presidency of the unit.It was learned.Mrs. Blume had decided shortly after her election, she said to resign because she felt that she would not have time to serve as president in the midst of her official duties as recorder. Then it was discovered that the election was contrary to the bylaws of both the national and state organizations, which forbid anybody holding public office from holding office in the auxiliary.Mrs. Katherine Caskill, first president of the unit, has been chosen president for the coming year.Others to present their resignations were Miss Ruth Arick, elected to the secretary ship, and Mrs. Velma Well, chosen as treasurer.Mrs. Helen Gusching has been chosen to fill the place left vacant by Miss Arick and Mrs. Edith Wefel will serve as treasurer.
