Jacob Arney was associated with his brother in law Werner Spainhower in York County, Pennsylvania around 1760. Jacob and Werner married sisters, Anna Ursula and Ann Elizabetha Kron, who were daughters of Lorenz Kron and wife Anna Ursula Bender. Apparently, Elizabeth Kron may have married first someone whose name was Lohner, as some records refer to her as Elizabeth Lohner. This would make Werner Spainhower her second husband. She was apparently born about 1729 in Germany. The birth of Jacob Arney is uncertain. Since his son Christian Arney says in his pension applicaion that he was born at Yorktown Pennsylvania in 1750, that would put the birth of Jacob Arney before 1730. He was NOT the son of Frederick Earney/Arney of Berks County, but might have been a near relative, perhaps a brother. There is no evidence for this right now, however. Jacob Arney and first wife Anna Ursula had children Christian, Lorenz (perhaps Adam Lorenz) Henry and Elisabeth, and perhaps others. Anna Ursula Arney died sometime in the mid 1760's and Jacob took as his second wife, Elizabeth(perhaps Hall). Soon after (or even slightly before) jacob Arney moved to Carolina.
