"The ASPREY family can trace their ancestors back to the ancient territories of between the 11th and 12th centuries.
The ASPREY family traces their ancestral roots back to Anglo Saxon origin, and first appeared in ancient medieval records in Cheshire"
Asprey --Aspray -- same name different spellings--I find the name spelled both ways in some of the research I am doing.
Though our name is spelled Aspray-- it is pronounced with the long e sound...
This family of Asprays is from Crockett County TN -- now in California...
The earliest ancestor I have notes of
from theAmerican Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI)
ASPRAY, John Faldo
Birth Date: 175? Birth Place: Virginia
Volume: 05 Page Number: 117
Reference: Heads of Fams. at the first U.S. census. Va. By U.S. Bureau of the Census. Washington, 1908. (189p.): 37
There are not many Asprays in the US-- all surely are related...I would like to hear from any other Asprays from the US-- to compare notes.
