I was very pleased to find this website and see your comments about the Canadian Astorino's.My own grandfather, Gaspare Astorino, was born in Gizzeria in 1887 and came to the U.S. in 1904.I am aware that he had four brothers who also came over at separate times and settled in Pennsylvania and Ohio.My father "Americanized" his surname in 1939, as did some of his brothers and sisters, so I know there are even more Astorino's than just those listed in the phone books.I have become quite interested in learning more about my Italian roots. Although I don't know anyone there, I had the great pleasure in 2001 of actually visiting Gizzeria.
