I am looking for information on three boys who show up as nephews living in James Atchley's household in the 1880 federal census in Spring Hollow, Laclede County, MO.The boys are listed as "Worly," "Oceander" and "Banabas."I believe that "Worly" is John Wellington Atchley, b. 19 October, 1872 and that "Banabas" is Barney D. Atchley, b. 19 September, 1879.John Wellington and Barney D. moved to Iowa, from whence I can track them."Oceander" I have no further information on.
The mother of these three appears to have been Mary Elizabeth Atchley, b. 1854 in Laclede, daughter of Martin Atchley and Phebe Mizer. She is listed as a niece living in James Atchley's house in both the 1870 census and the 1880 census. She married John D. McCoy in 1891.John and Elizabeth (now going by the name Mary E) had two children, Iva Victory McCoy, b. 1893, and William R. McCoy (John D. also had a daughter Mary E. by an earlier marriage).Iva V. McCoy shows up in the 1910 census for Polk County, IA living with John Wellington Atchley and his family as half-sister to John Wellington Atchley.
I would like to know anything that anyone else knows or suspects about the three nephews shown living with James Atchley on the 1880 census as Worly, Oceander and Banabas. In addition, I'd like to know about John Wellington Atchley or Barney D. Atchley.I would also like to know anything that anyone else knows or suspects about John D. McCoy and his wife Mary Elizabeth McCoy, nee Atchley, their children Mary E., Iva V. and William R., and in particular any step-sons of Mary Elizabeth who lived in their household during the 1890s in Lebanon, Laclede County, MO.
