Henry of atherton son of will holds the manor and in 1324 is summoned to the great council at westminster,(a parliament).in 1342 is is exempted from knighthood on health grounds and cannot be chosen to attend parliament by rotation.in 1352 he pays a fine to be exempt from knighthood and its adminastrative responsibilities.The age of the feudal knight has passed and the crown now prefers cash for prof soldiers .
