I realize there are dozens of other families that may be the ones that the follow the "Bastards" Piers, Humfrey, and Ralph lines. Ralph testifying in Atherton-Atherton.
I thought the American H. Atherton 1609-1661 from Ed. Atherton 1576-1613 from H. Atherton 1550-aft.1596 was pretty well established?
I know this may never be solved, I have read many places about this family line going back to Robert or William de Atherton, around 1200. But they do not seem to care that there are numerous years missing, and where exactly is the connection into that line.
While it would be great to find the exact connection, even a viable theory would be beneficial.
