In the Will of Aaron Atherton, Ohio Probate Records 1789-1859, Volume 11 page 239, probated 21 February 1832, the excutors are "my son Aaron and my son-in-law Abraham Lee".
The orginal will was destroyed in the Hamilton Court House fire of 29 March 1821.Apparently the orginal will and endorsements were preserved.
The will mentions the following:
Benjamin gets the 30 acres he is now living followed by a description of the land; Wife Nancy the remaining real and personal property; Balance of land divided equally among the children, with the exception of daughter Jerusha - she gets $10; and "...if my son Peter does not demand his dividend within two years after my wife's death that he shall not receive but twenty five cents..."
This brings several questions to mind:
Did Phoebe marry Samuel or Abraham Lee - or are these the same people? What did Peter do to alienate his father?
If anyone is interested, I can email them copies of the will.
