Yes, this C. Atherton was my G grandfather, C. Atherton.Unfortunately, I do not know his complete name, which is why I am unable to locate him with his family in Kentucky (where he was born). He must have remained in Ky until marriage (1st time) to Unknown. They had a least one child who lived, A.Ed T. Atherton, born abt 1869 (per 1880 Alcorn Miss Census, in Tn).I wondered if the KY/Tn borders where they family lived were close, or did he marry someone fromTN.I have to assume she died and he wound up in Alcorn,Miss married to M.J. Webb, formerly known as Maranda Isbelle Honnell whom you will find married to J. Webb in the 1870 Census of Tishmingo (Alcorn), Miss. They are living with her parents, Wm. Honnell and Frances Unknown Honnell. This generation of Honnell/Honnoll were in TN 1840/1850.He could have met this family in TN and came to Miss after the Civil War.
The one child that Maranda Isbelle (in error as an J.) Honnell Webb and her husband J. Webb had one son, Oscar T. Webb, born abt 1870 Tishmingo, Miss. The whole family, except for Moses Honnoll (brother of Wm. Honnell) came to Texas by train. They wound up in Grayson Cnty, TX mid 1880's.C. Atheron and wife and children first at the Gunter Ranch.C. Atherton later died in Dallas Cnty, TX after his wife was deceased.
