This is everything I have on my Taylor and Atkins families in Virginia. I hope it helps
someone and, if anyone has anything on these families, please share. I am desperate for
any names, places, etc., that will help me to find Nancy Taylor's ancestors. Some of
John Atkins land he got by deed from Lewis I. Atkins, John Mann and William Taylor.
Could this William Taylor be the father of my Nancy Taylor? Family lore has it that two
Atkins brothers named John and William came to America from Scotland. I don't know
when they originally came to America or if they settled first in Virginia or elsewhere
before one of their descendents, my John, came to Virginia. I was always told our
family came for the area of Isle of Wight, VA, but when I was given the family file as an
adult, the bible records, etc say John and Nancy were from King & Queen County.
Although, I don't know for sure if they were actually born there!?! I don't know enough
about VA geography our county history to know if this information about Isle of Wight
was in error or if King and Queen split off from Isle of Wight. Gloucester County is also
mentioned in family land records. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Fredreica email@example.com
