I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Lonie Meek McKinney Atkins”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Notations on the photo state: “McKinney – Lagarto, TX”, “married Fisher Atkins”, and also “She died Feb. 9, 1953 in San Antonio, TX, and buried in Atkins plot in Beeville, TX”.
Photo was taken in San Marcos (Hays Co.) TX, and she looks to be about age 25. Lagarto is in Live Oak Co., TX, and Beeville is in Bee Co.
I found the family of J. F. Atkins (John Fisher) and wife Lonie M. in the 1910 census for Starr Co., TX.J. F. was a “cattle man”, and each was age 41.He was born TX, and she in MS, and they had been married 11 years, and she no children. The 1900 census for Beeville (Bee Co.) TX shows J. F. Atkins, born Nov 1868 in TX, and wife Leona, born Jan 1868 in MS.
Ancestry’s OneWorldTree shows Fisher Atkins, and wife Leona Meek McKinney, born 19 Jan 1868.She was daughter of James Meek McKinney and Susan M. Hamilton, from Marshall Co., Mississippi.
