Trying to sort out the children of possible two Benjamin Atkins in Laurens and/or Spartanburg during the period 1800-1820.Of course, Spartanburg is adjacent to Laurens, so the two or more Benjamins referred to in several posts over the past couple of years "could" be the same, or at least related.
One post list children of Benjamin (who married Elizabeth Barnes)as Benjamin Jr., Thomas, Reed, William, Danial, Jackson, Elizabeth, and James.
Another list sons Watson, William, Abraham, Joseph, and John.Still another lists a daughter named Lucinda.
One Benjamin is thought to be a son of a John Atkins, and another the son of a William Atkins. And, of course, there is Benjamin Jr.
Perhaps we can pool our thoughts again on this one.If we call Benjamin of Laurens "Benjamin L" and Benjamin of Spartanburg "Benjamin S" and finally "Benjamin Jr" we can see if we can agree on who is who .
These Atkins sons represent a fair number of the Atkins in both Laurens and Spartanburg, and therefore are an important key to the whole family name there.
Even if you just "think" that any one child is of one of these three above, then either reply here or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will compile a list and publish it here as soon as we can tell anything. It would be helpful if you state whether or not you have any documentation or other evidence of any of the 'Benjamin' children.Thank you for your help.
