Ardyce Ann Attig Eddy 1927-2006
Ardyce "Ardy" Ann Eddy, 79, of Sibley, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at her home in Sibley.
Born Sept. 14, 1927, in Sibley, she was the daughter of Fred and Emma Polzine Attig. She married Ralph Eddy Aug. 28, 1946, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Sibley. He preceded her in death.
She was raised in Sibley and graduated from Sibley High School. After marriage, they lived in Omaha, Neb., where he went to dental school. After 2 1/2 years, they returned to Sibley and began taking over the Attig farming operation. In 1952, they moved onto the farm northwest of Sibley. She worked at Sibley Cleaners, Sibley Community School as a cook, Sibley Care Center as a cook and at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Sibley, as a custodian. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are five sons, Tom (Jane) Eddy, Lacrosse, Wis., Bill (Jo) Eddy, Aurora, Colo., Doug (Jolene) Eddy, Sibley, Pat (Julie) Eddy, Sibley and Steve (Gloria) Eddy, Hinton, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Clair Boes officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Sibley.
