Re: Reinhard Aulich, Wertheim, Germany
Sorry for taking so long in responding to your message. This summer my wife Marilyn, who is the descendant of Susannah Aulick travel to Europe. We visited Wertheim. However at the time I had no idea of the realtionship.if I had I would have do some inquring about Aulicks. It is a beautiful Franconnia wine region, a small village that at that time had May poles in the square.
After Susannah married Jeremiah Crampton they moved to Preble County, Ohio where Jeremiah was working as a tanner. How he met Susannah is a question I would like to know.Jeremiah was born in Culpeper, County Va. But being from a Quaker family, the family was told to move into Ohio in the early 1800's.Jeremiah and Susannah had 9 children.Three of them died the day of birth and two as young adults. I often wonder if the fact that Jeremiah was a tanner had something to do with these deaths due to toxics. In the 1850's they moved to Henry County, Illinois where they prospered with the coming of the railroad and opening of a sort of general store.Susannah and Jeremiah died in 1872 in Henry County.Their 6th child Franics then moves in the 1970's to Ventura County, Claifornia. His youngest daughter Madge is my wife's favorite grandmother.
