SPRINGFIELD - Sister Margaret Rose Aultz, OP, 82, a Dominican Sister of Springfield, died June 24, 2011. She was born to Charles and Margaret Rose Finney Aultz in Streator. She joined the Springfield Dominicans in 1946.
From 1948 - 1962 Sister Margaret Rose taught in Catholic parish elementary schools: St Mary, Paris; Little Flower, Springfield; St Malachy, Rantoul; and St Joseph, Bradley. For 18 years she taught at Catholic high schools: Rosary, Aurora; Marian, Chicago Heights; and Sacred Heart Academy, Springfield. Sister served her congregation as local prioress, general councilor, vocation director, education co-director and as pastoral care coordinator. Before retiring to the motherhouse, she ministered with the Spanish-speaking parishioners at St. Paul, Chicago Heights.
Sister Margaret Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William and Frank and her sisters Margaret and Harriet. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Visitation: Sacred Heart Convent on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 3:00-6:15 p.m.; Vigil Service: 4:30 p.m.; Funeral Mass: 6:30 p.m. with Rev. John Siemianowski and Rev. Peter Witchousky OP, presiding. Final commendation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
