I do not know if Mary Avis was married or not. I can find no census records or no marriage record. The only information I have is that she had one son that I know of who went by the name of Joe Avis. Joe was born 1851 and died 1932. Rumour has it that his name should have been Joe Maronia. But I do not know why. Mary Avis is buried on Highland Mt. in Fayette Co. WVA. I do not know where she was born. Joe Avis was my great-grandfather.
