Re: AVIS Family in Bruce County, Ontario

It is possible that the Ontario Avis family is related to my branch.My GGF was John Wellington Avis (1850 -1942) who married Rose Anne Crumley (1850-1933) who showed up in Alpena MI USA in 1874.We have heard that he was from Ontario (Mt. Karum ?) and that his father was Edmund Avis and hiw mother was Christina Bell.

Rose's father may have been John or Hugh Crumley and her mother is unknown.
