Good Day,
I have a "Mary Avis" who was born per census in 1815 in Virginia. My Mary Avis married Robert Downs on Nov 5, 1834 in Jefferson County, Virginia.....
Robert and Mary lived per census in Frederick, Virginia District 16 in the 1850 census......in the 1840 census they were living per census in Shenandoah , Virginia I am gathering this Shenandoah means County !
before the 1870 census Mary Avis and spouse Robert Downs moved to Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. In the 1880 census Mary Avis Downs is listed as a widow and living with her daughter Jeanette Frances Downs/Weaver and her husband Noah.
Would DEARLY love to get my Mary in the Right family !

Heading for Virginia/West Virginia next month for ALOT of researching.......Oh one more thing.......Mary Avis Downs had a Grandson Basil/Bazzal Avis Weaver which lead me to the "AVIS" surname .....then proof from her marriage bond as to where she married.
