Re: AVIS Family in Bruce County, Ontario

I am not in the Avis line at all, but do know a little about an Avis family in Charleston, W Va.

There was an Avis family associated with my father's Salvation Army church in Charleston about 1946.One member was still there in 1970 - a Richard (Dick) Avis who was in the Salvation Army band at a very advanced age.There was also another Robert (Bob) W. Avis that my parents knew.He was a professional artist and designed greeting cards.He retired in Broward County Florida (Ft. Lauderdale) and died in 1989.There is also a Canadian connection with my family who were from London, Ontario.
