Barbara,I think you may have the Ayers I'm looking for.All I know is that I'm looking for someone who married a Gildersleeve.I've heard that the father and possibly a brother were doctors in the Cinncinati, Oh area. He had a daughter, Rebecca, born 1825 in Pennsylvania. She grew up to marry John Ross.In 1850 they were living in Mercer county, PA.It is my understanding that Rebecca first married John Jordan Daniels of Oleans, NY.They had a son Silas. In the 1850 census, Silas is listed as a Ross, 8 years old.Rebecca was 25 in 1850 so would have been 17 when she had him.I don't have a date for her marriage to John Ross.Just to be on this trail after so long is great.Thank you and also to Carole S. who emailed me about your message.
