"Charlie/Charley" Ayers AR-IA-NE
Desperatly trying to break the "Charlie Pete Ayers" barrier in my immediate genealogy. In family records is sometimes listed Charlie, other times "Peat", census for wife & children show his birthplace Iowa. His wife Rose (Rosa) Adela Ives located in Platte County, NE census 1900 listed Rose Ayers living with Ives parents and children Pearl Joy Ayers (male, born 1893) and Lorena Mae Ayers (born 1891).1901 School district census, Rose is back to Rose Ives, (later marries Charley C. Comstock). Charlie married again, we think, Bessie or Elsie Fuller. Also had 1/2 siblings. He is said to have been a traveling carpenter, and committed suicide in his car behind a barn somehwere in KS abt 1930.None of his 13 grandchildren (through Pearl Ayers) know anything about him or seem to have met him. He is said to have spent a lot of time in Ark. and had some connection to the "Ives Plantation". His birth should be between 1865-1875.You can imagine my struggle with all of the Ayers out there and trying to identify him through census records.
I would welcome and appreciate any help should someone recognize something through any of these, tenuous, clues.
