Any info on the mother's name and her place of birth in the census?
Does the census give the State Lynn was born in and a year?
Any other sibblings with Lynn?

Seems a lot of Ayotte's headed south through Maine, Vermont, R.I., etc, while others went through Minn, so I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up in an earlier census from another State.If the wife's name is there, it might help to locate him elsewhere.

How firm is the b.d. of 1850 for Joseph?
