First, let me say hi!
I was in the same class in school as your Aunt Louise in Oakdale.We ran around with the same group of girls.Last month when several of us were at Louise's fish camp at Grand Isle I told her I would do her genealogy.
I can't find out anything about Ida Mirah Sims.
I'm sure Joseph William's father was William Bacon (maybe named William Joseph Bacon) and his mother was Louise (last name probably Lavergne).See the 1880 census for St. Landry Parish and you will find Joseph, age 23, living in that household.
William Bacon was b. 2 Dec 1819 in LA, d. 7 Dec 1893;
Louise Lavergne Bacon was b. 27 Mar 1818 in LA, d. 3 May 1898.
I got her last name from some family trees at ancestry.com.I don't know for sure that was his wife.Please let me know if you find something different.
I believe William's father was named Jacques Juan Bacon, b. 1799 in the Illinois Territory, which was partly in present-day Canada and partly in the present-day USA.He probably came down the Mississippi River to settle in St. Landry Parish, LA.
I can't determine who William's mother was.The best candidate I found was Eleanor Hyacinthe Chachere, but I can't tell for sure if that's one person or two people.
I can't find Jacques's father and mother.
There is at least one more Jacques Bacon, older (b. 1775) than this one who married Marguerite Vancheret; they lived in the Michigan area.I wonder if they are the parents of Jacques Juan.
Louise told me the names of some of her family, and she named Jacques Juan Bacon and said he had been born in Illinois, so I feel pretty sure he was William's father.
Sorry, but that's all I know.If you ever find out anything about Ida Sims, please let me know.
I've been able to follow your grandmother Dena's Fuselier family a long way back.
