Did you know there is now a Casher forum on the Family Forum.
You list a Jesse Casher. My grandmother's brother and others in their line were also Jesse Casher. My grandmother Lizzie Beatrice Casher was born in Web City, Arkansas,
8/27/1888 to Andrew Jackson Casher and Adaline Levenia Hutchins.
Her birth certificate was not registered until 1942 when my aunt took her to down get it done. It was witnessed by a W.V. (aka WBV) Hutchins of Ratcliff, Arkansas, as a person who knew of and could verify the birth. She had Casher siblings Fannie, Viola, and Jesse. I understand from my cousin, Jesse's grandson (whom I found on the forum) that both my grandmother, her father Alan (sp.?), and Jesse are all buried in Barling, Arkansas. There were evidently two generations of Jesse in a row.
Lizzie was married at age 17 to Lorenzo May Teague, who died December 2, 1908, while my mother was quite small, my mother having been born in 1908. Lizzie later married a Holland, and after his death, George Lewis, the only grandfather I ever knew. Since my
grandmother's birth was not registered until much later, I am afraid it is hard to trace them.
Even though I have my great grandmother's family Bible, it does not go back even to her parents in the geneology list.
I know that somehow, the Ragsdales were either friends or relatives as I can
remember hearing my mother and aunts speak of them and some of them lived in Ratcliff, Arkansas.
Would love to have "Cashers" use the Casher Forum to simplify finding you.
