Re: Phoebe Bailes m Jacob Lakey

Phoebe Bailes/Beals, daughter of Jacob Beals & Rebecca Adamson, did as you say marry Jacob Lakey and have 13 children. The only error is that Lydia md. Gibson Arthur. Phoebe and her third husband were renting a farm from Gib near Salem, OR at the time he married Lydia. Phoebe was buried at Ellensburg in 1894 as Grandma Herrington.Her 2nd husband was John C. Hyden and he d. in MO c. 1857. Phoebe crossed the plains with her children and Bailes relatives. She md Samuel K. Harrington in Wasco Co., OR before going to the Willamette Valley. After the death of S.K. Harrington she followed her Bailes relatives to Ellensburg, WA where she is buried. Our ancestor is Phoebe's daughter Phoebe Jane Lakey who md. Isaac Van Dyke Wible in Wasco Co., OR in 1861 shortly after her trip over the Oregon Trail from Missouri.
