I've been trying for several years to sort out a Leftridge link. As I have a double dose of Bailes blood from the pioneer settler Thomas Bailes Sr.. Pioneer settler of what is now Nicholas County W.Va.. From his son John Bailes 1st line. John Bailes 1st and Mary Foster son's John Bailes 2nd and Solomon Bailes. My grandmother Malissa (Bailes) Sebert is John Bailes 2nd's grandaughter. My grandfather Walter Sebert was the great grandson of Solomon Bailes. Solomon's Dau.Sarah Ann Bailes was the 1st wife of William Henson Sebert. Grandmother Malissa's father William Harrison Bailes had a brother named Leftridge Bailes. William's father John Bailes 2nd also had a brother named Jabez Leftridge Bailes also called General Jabez Leftridge Bailes. I am currently working on researching the family of Jabez Leftridge of North Carolina. He shows up there shortly after the Rev.War from Va. My mom's older brother said that the name Leftridge came from Thomas Bailes Sr's. wife and I've been trying to find proof for years.
